PROJECTS

The Bata Shoe Museum Foundation | 2013–2019

  • Envisioned and implemented the museum’s philanthropic mandate, including all aspects of major gift fundraising in support of curatorial, conservation and education activities, as well as special events and community partnerships.

Heritage Canada – The National Trust (formerly Heritage Canada Foundation) |  2013-2018

  • Designed and delivered a five-year Fund Development Plan to include all aspects of gift giving, with special emphasis on social enterprise and social finance models for built heritage preservation at the community level and in support of the National Inventory of Endangered Places.    

Randolph College for the Performing Arts (RCPA), Toronto | 2011–2012

  • Created a Philanthropic Capacity Building Plan that identified board governance best practices, a Development Case for Support and Fund Development Strategy for the college to 2017.

Artscape Foundation, Toronto |  2011–2012

  • Supported Artscape’s Regent Park Arts & Culture Centre and Youngplace Capital Campaigns.

  • Undertook a board governance and administrative practices review, and initiated a successful 25th-anniversary fundraising campaign.

Niagara Region, Cultural Capital of Canada Program Competition | 2011–2012

  • Secured the 2012 Cultural Capital of Canada designation for Niagara (Cultural Capital of Canada Awards Program, Department of Canadian Heritage).

Centennial College, Culture and Heritage Institute, School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culture, Toronto | 2005–2012

  • Developed the Cultural and Heritage Sector, establishing the CHI Institute with an associated fund development strategy.

  • Established the President’s Roundtable, Cultural Heritage Tourism Advisory Committee, and assisted with the Educational Design for Cultural Heritage Tourism Diploma Program.

  • As a CHI Symposium Management Committee member, was responsible for the design of the 2009–12 annual symposia and inaugural 2012 CHI Awards.

Ryerson University, Faculty of Communication & Design (FCAD), Toronto | 2006–2008

  • Director of Development (two-year position): Responsible for the fund development activities for Ryerson’s largest faculty; raised $2 million and authored the Image Arts Gallery Case for Support for the successful $21 million capital campaign for the Photography Gallery & Research Centre.

Harbourfront Centre, Toronto |  2002–2004

  • Reviewed Harbourfront Centre’s Fund Development Strategy, a component of the Centre’s five-year master plan; identified new sources of funding and authored several successful public and foundation grant submissions.

Audio-Visual Preservation Trust of Canada | 1999–2001

  • As CEO and Executive Director, led the organization from a budget deficit to an endowment of $3 million in two years (secured multi-year operating and project/event funding and established a national preservation endowment fund administered by Telefilm Canada and a preservation component of the National Library of Canada’s Music Memories program).
